The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Gardens offers 127 acres of beautiful paths, plants, and trees from all over the world. Take a self-guided tour or sign up with one of the docents to be shown such sights as the Meyberg Waterfall, a favorite for photo-ops; the Grace Kallam Perennial Garden, lined with intimate paths of color-themed flowers; or check out the many species of resident birds, aquatic creatures, and reptiles at Tule Pond. With special events each week designed to enchant people of all ages, a day spent here feels like a day in a fairytale.

The wonders of nature in Arcadia continue at Wilderness Park. Located in the San Gabriel Mountains, the park is a great option for a family adventure or a day-long getaway. Pack a lunch and relax while taking in the scenery at one of the park’s many picnic sites, or take a walk around the grounds where you’ll discover easy hiking trails along the stream, a nature center with many animals on display for both kids and adults to enjoy, and even an archery area!
